Black in Asia is the home of the Black Travel Network in Asia: honest country and city guides for Black travelers and expats in Thailand, Japan, Bali, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia, written from the ground, not from a press trip. It is a project of the Wendy Black Foundation.

We write what we would tell a friend before the flight: where to stay, what things really cost, how it feels to walk in as a Black man or woman, and the handful of rules that keep a trip easy. Every guide ends with the real booking links. No sponsored hotels, no dating content, no nightlife — that is not what this site is for.
